Glen has practised in the area of criminal law for over 40 years. He has acted as defence counsel for a number of high profile cases, and has appeared in all levels of court across Canada. He earned his law degree at the University of Manitoba, and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1973. He was appointed King's Counsel in January 1988.

He is past President of the Vancouver Bar Association;
a former member of the Canadian Bar Association Executive; a lecturer from the Continuing Legal Education Society in Advocacy; and a discussion leader for the Inns of Court Project, created by a former Chief Justice of British Columbia.
